NOTE: The NSSL 'Storm Cancellation' policy is shown below. The 'common sense' component of the policy is that teams/players/parents/coaches need to make their own choice about travelling, keeping in mind it is only a game.
The NSSL advises that when faced with inclement weather, the decision to travel to any game ultimately lays with the members of the participating teams. The NSSL does not expect anyone to make an attempt to travel to a game if they are uncomfortable with the travel conditions. We request that a team representative notify the opposition coach (from Team Contact List) and the NSSL by phone ( 902-471-4010) that that team will not be arriving to play the scheduled game. During evenings and weekends, E-Mails and messages left on the Office Phone (902-443-5185) will not help. Please assist us by using the number provided above.
The NSSL will post the cancellation of a game or games when a facility advises the MISL that due to weather or any other reason, they will be closing the facility. These messages will appear on the Home Page of the NSSL Website and on the Voice Message on the NSSL Office Phone (902-443-5185) as soon as we are notified.
The Highland Knights will make every effort to also post cancellation notices and team coaches will try to contact players by email/phone, but if in doubt, call your coach or the facility before travelling!
