Message from Cheryl Smith, VP Competition & Development, CC Riders Soccer Club:   Colchester County takes in a large area which, as we have seen recently, can have different weather in different areas at different times.  It would be impossible for one person to determine the weather at any given time for each of these regions.  The radio station and our website are not timely enough venues to use effectively on short notice.  Because of all these factors, we realized that there has been a lot of confusion in the determination of "who cancels games in bad weather" for the community leagues.  The Executive passed a motion at the last meeting that states the following:   Field Cancellation Policy:    The decision to cancel any field time due to weather conditions is at the discretion of the team coach.  The final decision on cancellation will be made at the field, unless the coach notifies members of his or her team prior to game or practice time.  CC Riders' policy is not to play in thunder and lightning conditions. I cannot stress enough that games and practices should not be played in thunder and lightning, and coaches should be clear on this and adhere to this policy for the safety of the children.   If you have any questions please let me know.   Thanks, Cheryl Smith Vice-President Competition & Development CC Riders Soccer Club
