Ranking #4: Terps edge Lady Icers for Southeast Region Title
The winners of three of the four regions were voted unanimously by the Women's Division ranking committee, while the Southeast Region goes down to the wire. Maryland got only 6 first-place votes to Penn State's 7, but averaging the committee's votes gives UMD the edge.
The top eight of the national ranking stays the same, but the bottom is where the action is. Colorado makes the biggest jump, from #13 to #10 with a recent win and tie over #11 North Dakota State.
Women's Division Ranking Information ACHA teams are ranked four times per season by a committe of 15 member coaches. The 2005-06 season also debuts a PairWise Ranking (PWR) to add an objective vote to the field.
The fourth ranking also determines the invitations for the National Championship and is released about three weeks before the start of the National Championship.
Ranking #4 Wednesday, February 15, 2006 Includes games through February 12
