Key Roles and Responsibilities

Team Coach

ü       Provide for the safety of the players during the game and practices

ü       Provide instructions to enhance the skill level of the players

ü       Ensure the players enjoy the game and practice

ü       Enforce adherence to the Fair Play guidelines

ü       Communicate with parents and guardians

ü       Ensure appropriate behavior of parents, guardians and spectators

Assistant Team Coach

ü       Perform the duties of the coach in his/her absence

ü       Conduct specific instructions to enhance skill levels of the players

ü       Assist in line changes during game situations

Team Manager

ü       Ensure parents and players receive all handouts and material

ü       Assist coach and Assistant coach, as needed

ü       Help in communicating with parents and guardians

Age Group Convener

ü       Assign coaches and assistant coaches to teams

ü       Assign players to teams; balance teams, as needed

ü       Distribute information to coaches and parents/guardians

ü       Handle issues and concerns; escalate, as needed

ü       Assist in distributing equipment and uniforms to players and coaches

League Director

ü       Handle issues escalated by the Age Group Conveners

ü       Identify and recruit Age Group Conveners

ü       Oversee the assignment of coaches and players to teams

ü       Provide assistance in training coaches

ü       Escalate issues to the Vice President, as needed

ü       Identify training needs of coaches, assistant coaches, conveners

ü       Identify and implement program improvements

League Vice President

House League

ü       Handle issues escalated b the League Director(s)

ü       Escalate issues to the President, as needed

ü       Assist in the timely distribution of equipment and uniforms

ü       Assist in the timely assignment of coaches and players to teams

President

ü       Deal with matters escalated by the League Vice Presidents

ü       Identify and recruit members to the Board of Directors

Uniform Manager

ü       Handle all matters pertaining to player and coaches’ uniforms

ü       Obtain and distribute uniforms to players and coaches on time

Equipment Manager

ü       Handle all matters pertaining to balls, nets, flags, coaching equipment

ü       Obtain and distribute game and practice balls on time

ü       Ensure coaching equipment is returned to the club at season end

Photo Manager

ü       Arrange for photos to be taken

ü       Arrange for distribution of photos on Cup Day

ü       Arrange for distribution of photos to players unable to attend Cup Day

Trophy Manager

ü       Arrange for trophies and awards for all age groups and players

ü       Arrange for distribution of trophies and awards on Cup Day

ü       Arrange to distribute trophies to players unable to attend Cup Day

Field Manager

ü       Obtain and assign fields to appropriate age groups and teams

ü       Deal with field quality issues with the Town of Markham

ü       Escalate field quality issues to the Town of Markham

Referee Manager

ü       Assign Referees and Linesmen to games, as required

ü       Provide for referee training and referee assessments

Score Keeper

ü       Maintain the team standings

ü       Publish team standings on a regular basis

ü       Deal with situations where no game score are provided by coaches
